JOBB MANJA (Preacher’s son/ Preacher Man)

Born on th 7th August in Village, Jos South Local Government area, Plateau state Nigeria

EDUCATION
Job started his primary education in LEA Primary school Gyel Later completed it in Township Primary school Jos. He went on to GSS Riyom where he attended he had is secondary Education.. He studied theology at the Jos ECWA Theological Seminary (JETS)

FAMILY
He is the Seventh 7th in the family of Eight (8), sadly he lost His Dad, Mom and 5 other siblings in a sequence of tragedies. He is Berom by tribe.

MUSIC
Job started his music ministry from the church Children’s Choir. In later years, he delved into street Raps and R&B, Started a dance crew in secondary school days. He joined a musical group called the psalmists; after the psalmists crashed he joined another accapella called the Friends which lasted for just a few months. All these groups helped to fashion and groom as he started a solo career in music.
Job met the prolific producer Mr. Seth in 2001 when he started working on his first album. But this album was later completed a genius producer and sound engineer Vincent Yoko. His first single was “Gbong Gwom” a traditional fusion of Raps and R&B which took the Airwaves by storm. It was extremely accepted and topped a lot of chats including power count down on Peace 90.5 where it was on the number three spot and lasted for sixteen weeks on the charts.
The album “Preacher’s Son” was released on the 20th March, 2005 with songs like “Na gode Mama” and “Ballard of a dead Preacher” still topping charts, from then the success of his musical career spread across the country and beyond with numerous invitations to minister. He has been privileged through the grace of God to share the stage with great men like Lionel Peterson (South Africa), Living Sax (UK) Chris Delvan (Nigeria) Patricia Mujungu(Uganda),  Pst Greig Gil (Canada) Chris Morgan (Nigeria), David G (Nigeria), Solomon Lange (Nigeria), Jeremiah Gyang( Nigeria), Daps (Nigeria) and Many more.

ALBUMS
From 2005 to 2016, Job has released four albums:

  • Ø  2009 → Still Burning
  • Ø  2013 → Preacherman
  • Ø  2016 → Grace and Mercy

He is currently working on two albums and release of videos of some selected songs.

AWARDS
He has won several awards which includes
  • Ø  Two (2) JOGAMA awards (song of the year and Male artist of the year)
  • Ø  Afrisound Award as “Most Humble Artist” 2008
  • Ø  Two (2) Awards from National Union of Berom Students (NUBES) as “Suga NUBES” and “Distinguished Berom Youth”
  • Ø  Comedian Chop Front Award for “Most Popular Artist” 2017
  • Ø  Dynamic Impact Mission Prestigious Award 2016
  • Ø  St. Peters Catholic Youths Gyel Meritorious award for “Youth Development” 2014
  • Ø  Makidi and Friends honours award as “Role Model” 2018

These among many other awards
His song “Gbong Gwom Jere” a traditional song that is a Rap/R&B fusion was the first indigenous song to spend 16 weeks on the power countdown top 20 songs and later followed by Na gode mama that lasted for 12 weeks on that same top 20 countdown and much later ballad of a dead preacher (a song dedicated to the late fire brand preacher- Evangelist Paul Gindiri) also spend 9weeks on the countdown.

With the success of his first album, his ministry has been enveloped in an aura of admiration and love which has brought him in the presence kings and princes; he has been featured in over 300 songs. This is evidence of the grace of GOD, the dexterity that he Raps, sings and chant eloquently in songs.

Job Manja is also a preacher who spread the word with a call full of passion and love, he is also an activist who pioneered and headed a group of young people called “Revolutionary Movement”. This movement protested against the illicit killer drink (goskolo) all over the city of Jos. He was on radio and television stations such as NTA, PRTVC to campaign more against this elicit drink
Job manja is an author, he has written several articles and presently writing two books namely “Life Issues” and “Words Never Die”
This energetic young man is a natural born leader; he has since from childhood been involved in leadership. He was chosen as baptism class leader, acting social prefect in secondary school. After he became born again, he was elected youth fellowship secretary, and later elected leader. From there he was elected RCC Youth leader, he was also the leader of the revolutionary movement. His steadfastness and dedication was what led to his election as a councilor representing his people. As a councilor he was also elected as the chairman committee on information and social services.

PERSONALITY PROFILE
Job Manja is Humble and easy going little wonder he seems to associate more with people that have those character traits. He abhors arrogant, selfish and proud people. A lover of people and humanity.
He is a skillful Volleyballer and a lover of good football, his favourite team is F.C. Barcelona.
The preachermans’ favorite colour is White, Red is a second. He loves reading, writing, travelling and reaching out to people through the gospel of Christ. He listens to music a lot and uses every opportunity to learn new things.

Also fondly called the preacher’s son never lost focus even after loosing His Mum, Dad and Five siblings in a series of sad events. His passion has always been for his calling and that has been his focus, giving glory to God at every given opportunity and grace to be a singer, Preacher, Author, actor, leader and a youth activist.
